We are excited to welcome Rebecca (Becca) Fisher-Gabbard to the faculty of the UNC School of Government. She joins the Law & Finance Division where she will focus on local government authority and liability. Becca will work closely with municipal attorneys and other public officials across North Carolina.

Becca earned her bachelor’s degree at Davidson College, where she captained the women’s soccer team. She then went on to earn her J.D. from UNC School of Law, where she was on the law review. Becca completed a clerkship with the Honorable Lucy N. Inman at the North Carolina Court of Appeals after graduating from law school. Following her clerkship, Becca worked as an education law associate at Tharrington Smith LLP. Becca’s professional experience and commitment to public service will serve her well in her new role.

You can read more about Becca here. If you would like to join us in welcoming Becca or have a legal question for her, you can send her an email at rfisher@sog.unc.edu.
